Abstract

Social Studies (IPS) learning in elementary schools plays a crucial role in developing social competence, cultural understanding, and national awareness in students. Social studies learning strategies based on social aspects emphasize the development of social skills, moral values, and constructive social interactions in the school environment. This study is a literature review aimed at analyzing various effective social studies learning strategies for elementary school students. The research method used a qualitative approach, collecting data from journal articles, books, and recent scientific publications relevant to the topic. The results indicate that social studies learning strategies can be implemented through various approaches, such as collaborative learning, interactive discussions, social projects, problem-based learning, and the use of educational social media. Implementing these strategies can improve students' communication skills, empathy, social awareness, and teamwork skills. Furthermore, the integration of character values through social studies learning also plays a significant role in shaping students' positive behavior. This study concludes that social studies learning strategies not only improve students' conceptual knowledge but also improve social competencies essential for social life. Further research is recommended to empirically implement these strategies in the classroom using various systematic evaluation models.
